Avalanche Hotels and Resorts invites skiers and explorers to experience the epitome of luxury amidst the world’s most picturesque alpine landscapes. With premier locations in Montana, Aspen, and Zurich, the exclusive ski hotel franchise offers unparalleled elegance and adventure.
This brand identity design concept involved comprehensive brand strategy, featuring an examination of market dynamics—enabling us to determine the positioning of the resort franchise amidst its competitive landscape. Additionally, our process included brand design, visually capturing the world of a luxury ski resort, infused with an explorer-inspired ambiance.


The journey began with a spark of creativity and a curiosity of hotel branding, inspired by the evocative name “Avalanche.” It crystallized well into a concept for a ski hotel and resorts franchise, nestled in the wintry landscapes of Montana, Aspen, and Zurich. Extensive research and strategic analysis delved into defining the brand’s personality, position, target audience, and competitive landscape, providing a robust foundation for the project.

With a clear understanding of the brand’s essence, we started crafting visual stylescapes to explore diverse design directions. Drawing inspiration from the rugged beauty of snow-capped mountains, initial logo sketches centered around a monogram of the letter A, evoking a sense of luxury and sophistication. Subsequent iterations honed in on a simplified mark featuring a snow cornice, a striking representation of the hotel’s namesake.


The task of curating a color scheme reflective of the ski resort experience proved both challenging and rewarding. After experimenting with various combinations, it was settled on primary core blue and icy blue hues to convey the pristine allure of snow-covered slopes. Complemented by a subtle brown tone and accented gold, the palette struck a delicate balance between warmth and coolness, echoing the natural surroundings.

As the project evolved through multiple iterations, each design decision and sketch brought us closer to realizing the brand’s vision. The iterative nature of the process allowed for exploration and refinement, with frequent returns to research and strategy to ensure alignment with the brand’s ethos. Despite its complexities, this project was a testament to the power of perseverance, culminating in a cohesive brand identity for Avalanche Hotels and Resorts.
