Bésa Mediterranean Bistro, a charming Mediterranean eatery nestled along the Spanish coast of Malaga, serves customers with fresh fish caught daily. This brand identity design concept showcases a fully envisioned brand identity design and strategy for the authentic restaurant, positioning it among the many coastal dining experiences on the Mediterranean, while breathing life into its unique world and narrative.
Bésa embodies a profound connection to the local community, celebrating the town’s history and founder’s legacy. Here, every meal is a culinary journey kissed by the sea, a testament to the enduring love for the Mediterranean and the rich heritage it represents.

Our objective was to develop a brand design and visual system for Bésa Mediterranean Bistro that would effectively showcase and emphasize the culinary richness of the Mediterranean amidst the array of enticing eateries lining the coast. Central to this endeavor was positioning the brand distinctively within the competitive landscape while preserving its identity as a local establishment.

Bésa’s color palette drew significant inspiration from the natural beauty of the Mediterranean, specifically evoking the serene sandy shores and pristine waters characteristic of the region.

The initial phase of the project involved comprehensive market research, with a specific focus on the diverse range of restaurants situated along the coastal region. This analysis aimed to reach a clear understanding of the market landscape, giving a solid understanding of a defined target audience and the conceptualization of a distinct brand personality characterized by traits of exploration and adventure.

Subsequently, a guiding statement was formulated to encapsulate the essence of the brand: “Bésa Bistro, rooted in tradition, offers an adventurous culinary experience centered around the freshest seafood, infused with the love of the sea.”

The preliminary design phase involved the creation of initial sketches, guided by a central insight emphasizing the utilization of a serif type wordmark to evoke a sense of historical authenticity. Through iterative refinement, particular attention was given to the incorporation of an accented ‘é’ within the mark, complemented by the inclusion of a symbolic fish motif.

Exploring the brand identity of Bésa presented a captivating opportunity for us to showcase our expertise in designing comprehensive branding solutions across various physical and digital touchpoints. Delving into the realm of restaurant branding provided valuable insights, particularly in discerning the strategic positioning of the brand amidst the many eateries along the coastal Mediterranean.
